How are you? I hope you read this newsletter on your vacations! The last months have been intense and – let's frame it that way – very interesting for me!
Lots of updates but I'll keep it shortish. We shipped the Data Center Update for Confluence 9, I just recorded a new intro video for Meetical on Google Calendar, we got a new Solution Partner and I'll share some #random stuff as usual (because, why not! Life is to short to ignore random stuff).

Confluence 9 Update
Meetical has been available for Confluence Data Center since the beginning, but it's also no secret that our main focus is Cloud. However rest assured that the DC for Outlook Exchange user remains an important version.
We shipped full Confluence 9.x compatibility, security improvements and a new features to easily change templates for existing series.

The Jira Gotter
I did a Consulting side-project recently where my role was to support a business consulting team in the role of technical challenger and coach. They did an operating model shift in their organisation and at the same time had the need for a tool to support these new, more efficient and transparent processes. Doing both at the same time is bold, but the results of these projects can be outstanding.
With JSM, Jira and Confluence we found the perfect tools to support the HR department in their work. It was great to see how early prototyping, close collaboration with other departments and iterative development resulted in a very promising solution. With continuous feedback loops in place we launched this successfully and I'm curious to see how it evolves further. Thanks Antoine, Jasmin, Clemens & Peter for this exceptional (and fun!) teamwork.
You know what? I'm not doing consulting currently - but this side project went great. Implementing custom fields isn't on my menu list definitely. New Intro Video for Google Calendar & Meetical
I also did a power user training for that project to train key people. And I realised that I need to provide this for Meetical as well!
So here comes the first draft version of a new series of videos.

AI is eating the world
I'm a bit fed up by all the AI hype news and Youtubers promising AGI and ASI tomorrow in order to push their channels. And you? 🙄
But AI is awesome and definitely here to stay and change the world! Expect some updates later this summer on our AI roadmap. Meanwhile, try the new Open AI record meetings feature. Could it be the future? Or just a privacy/compliance nighmare?
Atlassian is also ramping up with Loom Meetings. Definitely worth a try. Currently you only can store your notes on your personal space, no templates are supported, it's not connected on your calendar. And well, it's not Meetical! ;)
In addition, we now have MCP support for Atlassian. (the "Mother of all AI API standards") - Anthropic Claude now integrates with Atlassian, and I'm eager to see how this evolves and hope we get official MCP support for Confluence & Jira soon!
But whatever AI tool you use to take notes for you and prepare action items and decisions, remember Meetical is here to stay and will help you organize your agendas, notes and keep everyone in your AI-enabled knowledge base!

How random can it get this time?
#cross-product-apps Forge is making some huge steps from our perspective right now, and the new features for user impersonation and cross-product apps will leap forward two of our apps. Remember that Atlassian is discontinuing the great connect framework, and hopefully this forces them to make Forge equally powerful (and popular).
#stats The link you most clicked in the last newsletter was our legendary Guide to Confluence Meeting Notes, thanks for that! Immediate second place was the invite to a brain date at TEAM25. #book As a productivity seeker, I've read a lot of books about productivity systems and "getting things done". And I feel like a need these books regularly as a reminder and refresh, even if they don't provide too much new stuff. But "Meditations for Mortals - Embrace your limitations and make time for what counts" is a different kind of a beast. It's an effectivity trainer basically building up on the fact that you'll never sort our your life and an invitation "to dive wholeheartedly into this imperfect life, now". Recommended read for your well deserved holidays!
