Create a custom meeting notes index page

In this guide you will learn how to create and design the parent / index page, where usually all Meeting Notes in Confluence are organised under.

Remember you need to tag these pages with the labels meetical-parent or meetical-default-parent so they appear in your select fields under the space dropdown. Read this guide on how to create multiple parent pages and override defaults.

Info: Works on both Cloud and Server versions of Meetical.

You can freely layout and design your meeting notes index page and also define multiple ones.

The default index page, usually created by Confluence when you first use a Meeting Notes template, contains these macros:

  • create meeting notes form template macro
  • content report macro, to show a list of all meeting notes in the current space
  • task report macro, basically a list of all open action items in the current space.

– So there is nothing really special about that meeting notes index page and you can create it yourself in a few minutes.

Please note: Meetical will automatically create the first index page for you, if it doesn't exist. Just create a meeting page in a space and you'll have that page created as parent for you as well.

Here is an example meeting notes index page for Meetical users:

Example on how to create a meeting notes index page in Confluence, using default and Meetical macros.

You can create your own meeting notes index in Confluence pages as follows:

  1. Create a new empty page in your space.
  2. Add Macro Create from Meeting Calendar (Meetical Macro): A button with a link to the internal Meeting Calendar provided by Meetical. (Alternative without Meetical App: Use the Create from Template macro)
  3. Add Macro Open Tasks Report (Standard macro): use the task report macro and specify the current space as filter. Even better, first save the page and set the current pages as filter (so only tasks from all sub-pages are shown)
  4. Add the Meeting Report Macro (Meetical Macro). This will show all Meeting Notes below the parent / index page. (Alternative without Meetical: Use the Content Report Macro and specify the current space and the label "meeting-notes" as filters.)

Sometimes this is also useful for those not using Meetical yet, if for whatever reason your default meeting notes index page is missing.
